In all of my writing, South is declarer, but this time we are "declaring from East." I was East in an online game against one of my students.
I held:
and observed LHO open 1NT and RHO bid 2 to transfer to hearts. I wanted to come in, but I was Vulnerable against not. I passed for now (if the auction died in 2, I planned to balance later). Not to be. After LHO's 2, RHO bid 4NT. That should be quantitative (to ask for aces or keycards, responder should start with Texas and then bid 4NT). LHO jumped to 6NT and the 9 was led:
blah
1) Say that declarer won the DK and took a club finesse down 1.
2) I knew from East that she had a 100% claim
3) Critique north's bidding
