In this series, Michael will break down defense so that you can approach each new problem with confidence. Defending is the toughest part of the game, and it's also the part you spend most of your time doing, so any improvement will immediately yield results.
Feb 12 - Listening to the Auction - Start to picture the declarer and partner's hands before dummy even comes down. Then you'll be able to visualize paths to success.
Feb 19 - Opening Lead Analysis - Figure out why partner made a particular lead, and what that means for the rest of the play. Feb 26- After Dummy Hits-- Decide whether to go passive or aggressive. Learn when a trump switch is called for and when to attack new suits.
Mar 5- Signals - One of the cornerstones of partnerships, signaling is not easy, but proper signaling makes defense much easier for partner.
Mar 12 - Planning discards - Figuring out what to throw can be difficult, but Michael will show you how to approach this situation.
