The Technology of the Year award went to Larry Cohen Teaches Bridge, the Video Series. Ten DVDs, each covering a specific topic on bidding, declarer play or defense, offer students a similar experience to attending one of Larry’s seminars. To complete the learning experience, each video includes links to lesson notes and pertinent VuBridge deals.

When "Larry Cohen Teaches Bridge" series was introduced in late 2017, only four videos were available. The series has since been expanded to 10 videos. The concept remains the same: Larry Cohen comes to your home via your TV or computer and gives you a personal seminar. Each of the 10 topics is addressed thoroughly in a clear, engaging way. There are three videos dealing with bidding (2/1 game force, takeout doubles, slam bidding), two on declarer play (notrump, draw or not draw trump) and five on defense (third-hand play, opening leads, second-hand play, signaling, defensive planning). The last video in particular, which deals with what to do when you find yourself on lead after a few tricks have been played, is exceptional. Cohen uses numerous examples to establish a clear understanding of what it means to make a safe play or why certain leads are risky -- before moving on to why you would want to make one versus the other. Viewers who watch this video and the rest of the series are certain to emerge better defenders. Any one of the videos by itself is worthwhile, but a discount is available if you get all of them as a bundle.

I want you to know how pleased I am with the videos. Larry is very clear, and as you mentioned in the intros, he is humorous. I have listened to some of the videos more than once, and they have definitely improved my play!
