Michael Teaches: Cardplay Technique

In this series, Michael will review some important techniques for all levels of player. By knowing technique, you free yourself to spend your time thinking about other aspects of a deal rather than working out the best way to play a particular suit. Jun 25: Finesses and beyond--Start with the basics and then keep going. See if you are properly identifying opportunities for extra tricks. Jul 2: More card combinations--Don't lose tricks unnecessarily. Some card positions have been "solved" and you can learn how to play them properly or work out the correct play. Jul 9: Defensive Cardplay topics: falsecards, important discards, and more!--Make yourself a pest by giving declarer the wrong idea (but hopefully not confusing partner). Jul 16: Finding extra tricks in suit contracts--Learn how to take advantage of the trumps suit to generate extra tricks. Jul 23: Taking advantage of what you know/Placing Cards--Solving problems where you can place missing cards. Continuing to improve your deductions and taking advantage of them.
